This morning we got up and made our daily trip to the gym, and boy was it cold and rainy. On our way home Isaac asked what we were going to do today. I told him it is a great day just to stay home. A few weeks ago I had purchased this little foam kit and after getting Alex down for a nap we got to work building a "spooky tree house". Isaac ate it up. He is so enjoying the Halloween season. After that was done he asked if we could put up the rest of the Halloween decorations, so that is what we spent the afternoon doing.

Sunday afternoon and a peach pie!
Yesterday, I went with my mother in law Patti, my sister in law Harmony, and her husband Jason to the downtown farmers market. We try to go at least once a year. Well here in Utah, it just happens to be peach season. Every produce vendor had fresh peaches. Of course I couldn't resist. Then I got ambitious and decided to make a peach pie. I wasn't excited enough to make the crust, Marie Calender helped with that part, but I did make the filling. I got this recipe from a recipe exchange last year and have wanted to make it ever since. It turned out pretty dang good, if I do say so myself. I told my mother in law I would post the recipe on my blog. So here it is if you want to try. (It is soo easy!)
Peach Pie
Slice 3-4 large peaches into a cooked and cooled pie shell
Mash(blend in blender) 2 peaches, 1 cup sugar, 3 tablespoons cornstarch, and 1/2 cup water.
Cook and stir this mixture for 5 minutes until boiling.
Add 1/2 tsp. almond extract and 2 tablespoons butter.
Slightly cool peach mixture.
Pour over slice peaches in shell.
Chill several hours.(I put it in the freezer for an hour and it was good)
When serving, top pie with whipped cream.
After dinner at Mimaw's house, Isaac decided to turn Grumpy's favorite chair into his "house". It was pretty cute.

Two Things
I just thought I would share this cute idea. My friend in my ward brought these "lunchables" to church for her little girl. Yesterday Isaac and I made them for lunch, using cut up ham, cut up string cheese and cheez its. Isaac thought they were so cool. Just something fun to break the monotony of lunch.
Next thing. You have to love when this happens to you car or should I say when you do this to your car. I went last night to take a photography class that came with my camera. When I was pulling out of the parking lot, I neglected to see the lamp post in my blind spot and started turning right. Well the lamp post had a cement block at the bottom and so when I hit it I mangled the car. I just feel like a total idiot. I was so embarrassed to tell Travis. He didn't tease me too much though.

Tee Ball Round 2
So here we go with round two of tee ball. I asked Isaac if he wanted to play again and he said "Yes Mom, but I don't want to play soccer". We show up on Mon. for the organization meeting and find out that Isaac's team still doesn't have a coach.(They had called last week to see if Trav would be willing. I said no on account of his church calling and going back to school.) No one was volunteering so Travis stepped up. Today was our first game. Travis is such a great coach. All the kids love him. Isaac did so much better this time. I think he is understanding the game a little bit better. He immediately made friends with a boy name Daxtin. They got along great on account that tee ball was second priority to having fun for both of them. Isaac was still entertaining and I got a few chuckles out of watching him. Isaac and Daxtin rolling down the hill.(This is not on the field)
The game came to a screeching halt when the boys discovered there was a grasshopper on the field. They were all trying to catch it.

Mimaw's Vespa
On Fri. Mimaw(Trav's Mom) had an early birthday presant from Grumpy(Trav's Stepdad)sitting in her garage. She has wanted a Vespa for 20yrs. and she finally got one. From the picture on her blog, she looked like a kid on Christmas. On Sat. morning she drove it over so we could see it. We all thought it was pretty cool, but Isaac loved it. He mostly just wanted to push all the buttons. We love you Mimaw!

School is a hit!
I've been meaning to get on and give an update about preschool, but life has been crazy. Isaac absolutely loves school. He goes on Tues, Wed, and Thurs. When I picked him up last week on Thurs, he climbed into the car and said "Mom, in four more days I get to go back to school." It was so cute. On Mon. they learned about food and where it comes from. His teacher is so great, she had the kids go out to her garden and pick a pumpkin, a bean, and a peach from her tree. Isaac informed me that the bean comes from a plant, the pumpkin came from a vine and the peach came from the tree. Sometimes I wish I could be a fly on the wall at school,(one with a camera)so I could watch him experience all these new things. He is making new friends and talks my ear off the whole way home about them. I guess I should cherish this time that he loves school, since before I know it, I will be fighting him to go to school and do homework.

Isaac is off to Preschool!
Right now my house is strangely quiet. Alex is asleep and Isaac has been at preschool since 12:30pm. We went to orientation yesterday and ever since then, Isaac has been so excited to go back, he has been bouncing off of the walls. I made him take pictures, which he wasn't too thrilled about, but I did get a few smiles. His teacher, Mrs. Wilkinson, has a bridge to get to her door and he informed me right away when I dropped him off that he was going across the bridge alone. It was so cute. I can't believe he is old enough to go. I love him so much and will miss my little bud. Pictures from orientation yesterday!
