What a Month!

After three days in the hospital we finally came home. Isaac has done remarkably well so far. We love having Alex around. He is such a joy. I forgot what a sweet spirit a new baby brings to a home. He is so different than Isaac was. He is a major sack hound. He is also a great eater. Isaac would take his sweet time, but Alex gets right to business and then its back to sleep. I took him to see his doctor on Fri. and Dr. Bancroft described him as perfect, which is music to a mother's ears. He still weighs 7lbs. I am trying to enjoy every second, knowing it dosen't last.

And finally, last but not least, Alex finally arrived. I was supposed to be at the hospital at 6:30am. The hospital called at 5:30am and said they were short staffed and to call back at 7am. When we called back they still didn't have room. Finally at 8:40am they called and said to come in. We didn't get started until around 11am. There was really no action until around 9pm. Alex made it at 12:25 am on March 25, 2008. Weighing in at 7lbs and 20inches long. It was a very smooth labor. Things went really well. I had two of the most fabulous nurses. Alex would have been born on the 24th, except my doctor was performing an emergency C section. So we had to wait. Zanne(aka Tutu) and my mother in law Patti(aka Mimaw)were there for the birth. Mimaw was able to cut his cord.(Travis dosen't have the stomach for it.) The next was a three ring circus, with a parade of people coming to visit. Isaac was the first one to visit and he loved meeting Alex, however, he looked at him for a minute and quickley found the clock on the wall.(This is what I predicted would happen.) Isaac loves holding him and is very gentle. I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to be a mother to two such wonderful sons and to have the best husband in the world.

Then there was Easter. I was scheduled to be induced the day after Easter. I was really hoping to make it, so I could be home to celebrate with my family. My Aunt Zanne, who is like my second mother since my Mom passed away, flew in the day before Easter and helped us die eggs and celebrate Easter.

Well we spent March preparing for Alex. We got the nursary painted and I continued to get huge. This is me the night before the induction. I was lucky and made it through 2 pregnancies with no stretch marks.

Isaac's first soccer game

We decided to sign Isaac up for an indoor soccer league. He loves to run around and be crazy, so we thought this would be a good outlet for him. He did okay in practice, but when it came time for the game he could care less. He would sit down in the middle of the court, come and talke to Travis and I on the sidelines anything but play the game. When it was his time to play goalie he would wrap himself up in the net and when he was really sick of it he just sat down on the chair next to the goal. It was all pretty comical. All of these photos were taken during the game.

Will it ever stop?

I can't believe the snow we have had this winter. Almost like clock work, there has been a storm every other day. It is so cold too. Isaac has so much fun going out and shoveling the walks with Dad. These pics are from a storm about 3 weeks ago when we received 12 inches of snow in one day at our house. I will be excited to see the lawn again soon.

We have a dog?

We have had Jazzy, the sweetest golden retriever for over a year now. Isaac has shown little to no interest in her up until now. He has realized he has a playmate or could it be a boxing bag. He is kind to her for the most part, but also likes to drive the poor dog crazy. He will give her loves and kisses, but usually he sneeks in a little pull of the hair or tail. Jazzy is so patient with him, she usually just takes it. Every now and then she gets fed up and gives him a little nibble. Isaac did however ask me to take this picture and he has been carring abound his copy for days.
