Girls Trip!

My best girlfriends Amy Stewart(we've been friends since age 12) and Holly Kener(we've been friends since age 5) and I all turned 30 this year. OUCH! I remember thinking 30 was old. We had always talked about going on a girls trip to celebrate. My Mom was from Seattle WA. My Aunt Zanne and Uncle Rob live there. I have always been very close to my Aunt. When my Mom passed 6 1/2 years ago, we became even closer, like mother/daughter. Seattle has always been my home away from home and I have always talked about how great it is. So when we were discussing where we were going to go, both Amy and Holly said they wanted to go to Seattle. I talked to my Aunt and it was on. On Thurs. June 26 we took the 6:45am flight out and spent the first day in downtown Seattle. We wandered around Pikes Place Market and had lunch at Ivar's Fish and Chips. Pike is known for it's fresh fish market. The guys that work there as so funny. Down below there is a picture of a monk fish. Under the ice they had it tied to a rope. Holly got close to look at it and they pulled the rope. She jumped and screamed so loud. One of the guys heard me call her by name and they started teasing her and threw a stuffed fish at her, which we all thought was real. It was a great laugh.

Thurs. night we went to my second favorite resturaunt on the planet, Wild Ginger. It is an awsome Asian resturaunt. My Uncle was on a sail boat race so it was just the girls.

My Aunt know the owners and the waitress, so when we told them we were celebrating turning 30 in Seattle they sent us out four desserts with candles.

On Friday we took a ferry up to my Aunt and Uncle's house on San Juan Island, which is in Puget Sound up towards Canada. They spent six years designing and remodeling this house. It is absolutely amazing. In my opinion it belongs on MTV Cribs. They are so generous and kind to let us stay there.

This is the master bathroom vanity. This is the master bath and shower.
This is the indoor lap pool.
This is the media room.
One view of the outside.
The great room.
The kitchen.
The kitchen looking out onto the deck and infinity hot tub.
My Aunt has always loved to swing on swings, so she had one rigged up to a tree so it would swing out over the cove on their property. Amy who is scared of heights even tried it!

The first day at The Point we just took Holly and Amy on a tour of the property. My Aunt and Uncle own six acres and most of it is forest. They grow an organic vegetable garden that is amazing. They grow all of their own produce and many other flowers and things.

My Uncle has blazed trails all over the property .
This meadow they have reminded all of us of the meadow in Twilight!

The first night at The Point my Aunt and Uncle made us a fabulous dinner out at the fire pit. It is so cool how they cook on just a piece of sheet metal. We had chicken, shrimp and oysters.

The boat we were taking to Deep Cove Chalet docked at Roche Harbour. So we spent a few hours looking around there. It is a little habour resourt that is so fun.

On Sat., we went by boat(the Interceptor) up into Canada to eat at my favorite resturaunt on the planet, Deep Cove Chalet. It is a little french resturaunt that my Aunt and Uncle have been taking me to for a few years. We pulled the boat up onto the beach and walked up to the resturaunt. My Aunt and Uncle know the owners and called ahead to let them know we were coming. They had a beautiful table all set up for us. The food and the company were wonderful.

My sweet Aunt Zanne and Uncle Rob!

On Sunday, our last day on San Juan Island we just piddled around Friday Harbour in my Aunt's Porche

This is us on my Aunt and Uncles racing sailboat Coruba we stopped by to see it on our way home from the island.
Here we are on the ferry ride back from the island.

I have only been to Seattle one time and LOVED it. But I can't get over that house . . . it totally deserves to be spotlighted on MTV cribs! How fun to be so pampered!
