The Halloween Rundown.

I am finally getting around to updating my personal blog. I'll be honest, it has been hard to find a good balance with starting this new business. I have been crazy busy. (I'm not complaining, just stating a fact.) So needless to say I'm behind in blogging. I'm rewinding to Halloween. First up is my family Halloween party. Of course I left costumes for Trav and I to the last day, so we went as an egg and a deviled egg.

Mimaw went as Grumpy and Grumpy went as Mimaw.

The Mad Scientist and host of the party.

The spooky hostess with the mostess.

Grandma Sharleen did face painting for the kids, yes mine chose a clock.

My cutie step sister Lexi, yes my step mom made her costume the night before with no pattern.

Ceaser?

Next was Isaac's first Halloween Parade at school. It was short and sweet for the kindergartners.

This cute little thing would be McKenna the object of my son's affection. Yes, they play the "marry" game at recess.

I had to snap a shot of Mr. T. I loved his costume.

And for the grand finale, trick or treating. We went out as a family for about an hour. I think Alex enjoyed it most. He caught on really quick and would walk up to the door and say "cany". Then the rest of the night was up to Isaac and I. We met up with a couple of his friends and finished off the the ward.

Jack-o-Lantern Carving

When we decided it was time to carve up the pumpkins, we hauled them over to Mimaw and Grumpy's house so it could be a family affair. It was unseasonably cold that weekend, thus why my kiddos are in Mimaw's sweatshirts.
Everyone drew on their best faces:

The best result of Isaac's drawing...

Alex had to be in on the drawing also, we decided his design would be too complicated to cut out...

First School Picture, Report Card, and Parent/Teacher Conference

Yesterday, I got Isaac's first report card and had his first parent/teacher conference. I can't believe I am going to parent/teacher conference as a parent! Isaac is adjusting well to kindergarten. The academic work comes very natural to him, but we are still working on his social skills. His teacher has been sending home 70-80 page chapter reading books for him each week and he has been devouring them. She assessed his reading and he is reading on a 2nd grade level. The scale they use is A-Z. A being the lowest and Z being the highest. He scored an O. So her next game plan is to work on spelling. She will send home words to teach Isaac the rules of spelling and then he will have a test at the end of each week on ten of those words. Now for the things that need improvement. His teacher said he is a bit of a teaser and knows how to push people's buttons. So our goal is to work on him being a better friend. He has such a tender heart and is a good boy. He shares with others well and is in tune with other's feelings. He has a little girlfriend at school named McKenna. She is a doll. I think she is the size Isaac was at two. He informed me that he loves her and is going to marry her. Oh puppy love.

Picking Just the Right Pumpkin

We have this little pumpkin patch that we like to get our pumpkins at every year. It has become a little tradition in our family. It was fun to watch Alex this year. He loved to just to be free to wander around. Isaac's favorite part are the mini pumpkins.

This would be my best attempt at getting a picture of them together.
