Fire Station

Wow, this summer has been busy. I have forgot a few fun things the kiddos and I did. We went to the fire station with our ward. The kids loved it. The firemen were so cute with the kids. They gave them the grand tour, let them sit in the fire truck, and even gave them badges and hats. So fun.

A Sinfully Yummy Syrup!

So I had a baby shower for a friend of mine last week and somehow the subject turned to breakfast. One of the gals at the shower shared a recipe for buttermilk syrup with us. Last night I gave her ago and I was ready to lick the pan. I served it over french toast, but it would be fantastic on anything. So here is the recipe if you are interested.

1 cup buttermilk
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
Bring these three ingredients to a boil.
Remove from heat and add:
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. baking soda
Stir.
The baking soda will cause it to become a bubbly, gooey sweetness. It is DEVINE.
I put it in a mason jar and stored it in the fridge. It was tasty again today!

My New Adventure

If you didn't already know, in the past year my photography hobby has turned into a passion. After a lot of thought and encouragement from my friends and family, I have decided to start a little photography business. I'm still in the first stages of putting my portfolio and website together. So while I am in this transition period, I decided to offer a special to get me going. For the months of September, October, and November I will be offering photo shoots for the following prices:
Sitting fee:$50(Up to 7 people, $5 per person after that)
CD:$25 (with 20-30 edited high resolution images along with the copyright release. I do take hundres of pictures, but unfortunately I can't edit them all)

After this promo, the disk will be $75 or you can choose to order prints. The sitting fee will remain the same. I hope to have my website up and running within the next week or two, but if you want to check out a few of the sessions I have already done click on the links below. I am so excited for this new opportunity to stretch my creative wings and try something new. I usually do shoots on Tues, Thurs, and Fri evenings, but I am flexible. If you are interested, leave me a comment. If you want to leave personal info, I moderate my comments and won't post it. If you know anyone else who might be interested feel free to pass on the info.

Thanks again for all of your loving support and help.

Isaac's 5th Birthday Part Deux

We had to have mini birthday party for Isaac here in Utah. I thought about having a friend party for him, but decided against it. We just had family and his little friend Addi who he plays with a lot. When I asked him what kind of cake he wanted, he replied "Red cupcakes like Tutu made." Your wish is my command.

My First Newborn Shoot

Last week I was able to do my first newborn photo shoot. Meet Noah. He was fantastic. Barely made a peep the whole time. Katie is his mom, she is a champ. Noah weighed in at 9lbs. 10oz. and was 22 1/2 inches long. Holding that little one made it hard for me to believe that my boys were once smaller than that.

This is the big sister, Emma. She is such a cute little monkey. Her vote for Noah's name was Roast Beef Baby. Oh the imagination of a child!

Kindergarten Was A Piece of Cake!

Today was the day I sent Isaac to kindergarten. I can't believe it. I remember saying when he was a baby, "Before I know it he will be going to kindergarten". Here it is. I have such mixed feelings about the situation. I know he is ready and it will be very good for him, but on the other hand, I feel like I'm feeding him to the wolves. He is finally breaking out of my bubble. I know I need to let go, but it is so hard. He has been so excited to go. We went last week to meet his teacher and do his little assessment. He blew her away of course, but she seemed very prepared and eager to help him at his level so he won't be bored. Travis came home from lunch so he could come with us to drop Isaac off. The school is just a short walk from our house. When we got there, Isaac was a little shy, which is not typical of him. He stood by my side until his teacher came out and told them to line up. When he saw his teacher, he seemed relieved. I held back a few tears on the walk home. I was waiting for him when he came out, he ran up to me and excitedly said "Mom, kindergarten was a piece of cake!". I was so happy he liked it. I have decided to let him walk home from school with some other kids in our neighborhood. I know their mom and they are very organized and have a place to meet after school. I was there today to make sure he knew what was going on. Now I'm having a bit of anxiety about him walking home. Is he too young? Let me know what you think.

The little questionaire he filled out about himself...

Sweet Lily

Last week I was able to shoot this darling little one, Lily. Her personality is every bit as beautiful as she is. She rarely stops and is full of life. Thanks Alisa for asking me to do her pics!
