Finally after four weeks, I think we kicked the thrush. We went through 2 antibiotics before we tried gentian violet, which is an herb that was recommeded by a few friends. The only downfall is that it turned Alex's mouth purple for 3 days and stained everything that it touched. I could careless because it worked. Who knew it would be the $1.75 remedy that would actually take it away!

Harmony and Jason's Wedding
This last week Travis' sister Harmony got married. It was such a great day. Isaac was the ring bearer and did a great job. Travis' other sisters were here from Oklahoma and Nevada, so Isaac was able to have a great time playing with his cousins that he doesn't get to see very often.

One Month
I can't believe Alex has been with us for one month. It is all going by so fast. He is such a sweet baby. It has definatly been a challenge juggling two kids. I feel like I don't get much done. I look at my house at the end of the day and feel that I have very little to show for myself. I'm sure part of it is the lack of sleep. I'm trying so hard not to wish away the newborn stage of Alex's life, but I can't wait until this kid sleeps through the night. With Isaac being 3 1/2, I think I got too used to my sleep.

Run, Travis, Run!
This weekend Travis ran the Salt Lake City Half Marathon. He had been training hard for it. He ran it in 1hr. 39min. 9sec. His next goal is to run the St. George Marathon! I'm so proud of him. I could never do it!

The Big Monkey Boy
Isaac is doing so well as a big brother he loves to help with Alex. He is my little errand runner, taking out diapers, getting blankets and burp rags, and shaking bottles. I was calling Alex "my little monkey boy" and Isaac said that he is the "big monkey boy". He loves to hold Alex and give him kisses. He always holds him while we are saying family prayers.

Two weeks old
Actually Alex is 3 weeks old now, but this pic is from 2 weeks after we went to his 2 week check up. I took Isaac with me to the appointment. Wow that was a challenge. By the time I left I had 2 screaming kids and I was about in tears. We did survive. But here is the scoop on Alex, he was 7lbs. 13oz. and 20.5 inches long. He had been a bit fussy and was having a hard time staying asleep. Dr. Bancroft said he had thrush. He gave him some horrible medicine that Alex would spit out like a volcano. I was to give it to him 4 times a day. HA HA. After a week it wasn't working so we got something else and after 3 days he is back to my sweet baby and is feeling much better.

Tutu Withdrawls
It has been just over two weeks since Alex was born and all my help is gone. It is such an adjustment taking care of two kids. Luckily Isaac is pretty independant and can do alot for himself. My aunt has been gone for a week and a half and we are all going through withdrawls. I don't know who misses her more, me, my kids or my dog! We love her so much. I was lucky the second week to have my mother in law Patti help out. She is amazing and such a great support.
