July 24th.

We had such a fun and busy Pioneer Day. By way of tradition, we started off at the Pioneer Day Parade down town. Just to spice things up a little, Travis and all the men got together the night before and made all of the kiddos marsh mellow guns. They definitely added some extra spunk to the parade.

My sweet niece Vivien's birthday happens to land on the 24th. So to commemorate her first birthday, she shared it with Grumpy's 50th birthday. Grumpy's birthday was actually in April. In an effort to have the party be a surprise and ensure relatives from out of town could be there, we put it off until July.

Poor little Viv was exhausted and couldn't stay awake for the fireworks.

The conspiring begins...
Yes, this would be my mother in law's dryer. It gave out after decades of service. She hadn't yet disposed of it yet. Someone got the bright idea to light fireworks inside of it.

My grandaughter Gretchen asked why we were having a surprise birthday party for someone who is already dead after she saw the 'RIP' poster! Hahahaha....
