Mid week Park City Fun

Back in the beginning of June we went with a few friends from the ward up to Park City. My cute friend Ashlie's husband works for a hotel up there. Trav had to work and go to school so he wasn't able to go with us. It was a chance for me and the boys to get away and have some fun. Plus their little buddies were up there with my buddies. So a win/win situation.

It started out with swimming indoors, since the weather felt like March.

I think the boys were most excited to have a TV in their room in the town home. They had a quiet time and then we headed downstairs for dinner.

If you ever get the chance, head up and stay at Newpark Resort. They have a couple of restaurants that open up to a big area where the kids could ride their bikes. I got a lot more pictures of Alex, since Isaac refused to slow down and appease his mother with a photo op.

When the sun was almost down we had to get a photo of all the kiddos. What to do with all these boys and one lone girl. After the best picture we could capture, we all headed to bed. I let the boys stay up and have "movie night" with me. We pulled out the couch bed and watched Megamind.

Bright and early and back at the pool. At least today we were able to venture to the outside part of the pool.

This is the end product of two days of fun and little sleep. Thanks Ashlie and Matt for inviting us.

He did it...finally!

We are so proud of Isaac. He finally mastered riding a bike without training wheels. We had been trying to motivate him for over a year and he had no desire. At the end of last year, it became apparent that he was growing out of his bike. About a month ago I gave Isaac a proposition, if he could learn to ride his bike without training wheels, I would take him to the store and let him pick out a new bigger bike of his choice. This was his response "Can I get something else instead?" So now you really see what we were working with. Travis removed his training wheels and the bike sat. One day about two weeks ago, he just got on the bike and started riding, no help from us. We followed through and got him a new bike, it is a bit bigger and heavier than his old one, so he is still practicing on it. He loves riding his bike, the faster the better.

I asked Isaac to sit by his new bike for a photo, Trav says he looks like he is posing for a Sears add.

The Bean Museum

Isaac's first grade field trip was to the Bean Museum at BYU. I have to admit, I had never heard of it. When I googled it, the description said it was a natural life museum. To me it looked more like a taxidermy museum. The kids seemed to enjoy it. I was excited because I was actually able to go. We hopped on the bus and headed for Provo. It was a bit of a jaunt on a bus for first graders, but they did pretty well.

This was my cute group. Isaac has quite a crush on Grace.The kids picked out some of their favorite animals for me to photograph.



Isaac's favorite was the serval, because Tutu and Papa had one.
There was a reptile presentation at the end.

{One More Down}

Three weeks ago, I started the dreaded task of potty training Alex. I don't know why I get stressed about it. Alex did phenomenal. We had little or no accidents daily. He loves characters and excitedly picked out all of his own underwear. He couldn't wait to wear them. The rule at our house is if you poop in your underwear they are in the garbage. It only took once and few tears to nip that in the bud. So other than at night, we are done. Check.

Alex is 3????

It blows me away that this little monkey is three years old. The time goes by so much faster the second time around. He is one of the sweetest children I have ever met. I am constantly told that "there is just something about him".
-He makes a room light up with his smile and goofy faces, and melts your heart with his eyes.
-He is good natured and easy going.
-He worships the ground his brother walks on.
-He is full of hugs an kisses.
-He is a good little helper, but often confuses the kitchen sink with the garbage.
-He knows all of his colors and shapes.
-He recognizes about 90% of his alphabet.
-He weighs 34.1 lbs.(75%) and is 41 inches (99%)
-He loves to play outside with his shirt off and ride his scooter.
-He has to have his blankie, Super Why, Alpha Pig, Diego and turtle to guarantee a good nights sleep.
-He would watch television all day long if I would let him.
-He is very independent and thinks that he is 6 years old.

We are so lucky to have this wonderful little boy in our home.

His birthday morning he got to open his presents from his brother and a couple small ones from Mom and Dad. Isaac's presents were definitely the hit. He ran around for days in his Super Why garb.

We had his party the following weekend.
He had a blast opening presents and especially loved the Batman Cave Grandma Norma brought.

We made him cover his eyes when Dad brought out his gift from us...
...a glide bike!(a small bike with no peddles to help with balance)
This year Alex wanted a Toy Story birthday and picked out cupcakes.(He decided to take it easy on his nauseated Mom)


Rissy is always at everything important for the boys...we sure do miss her!
